UCLA HealthLink

For Community Referring Providers and Staff UCLA HealthLink - secure remote access for community providers

On June 10, we're beginning a pilot of UCLA HealthLink - a CareConnect product that enables non-UCLA providers to view the UCLA chart of patients with whom they have an established clinical relationship. UCLA HealthLink has the power to enhance continuity of care, improve communication among referring and UCLA Health providers, and increase referring provider satisfaction with UCLA Health.

With UCLA HealthLink, referring providers are given secure access to view the electronic health records of their patients to facilitate communication of the care given to their patients by UCLA Health. They do this by viewing their patients' UCLA Health chart via a web-based version of Chart Review.

Providers using HealthLink will be able to review the patient's UCLA chart, giving them access to:

  • Lab, imaging, and abnormal test results
  • Hospital admissions
  • Discharge summaries
  • Provider notes and orders
  • Care goals
  • Medications and allergies
  • Referrals
  • Records pulled from other health care organizations that use Epic

Referring providers and coordinators may communicate with UCLA Health care teams via "Community Messages" in the In Basket. They are also notified by email of their patients' encounters - emergency department visits, inpatient admissions - at UCLA Health. Access to view patient information is real-time and printing option is also available.

In the near future, additional functionality will be implemented, including:

  • Imaging, labs, and referral order entry
  • Release of information (ROI) requests

It's all online. There's no software for you to install.

UCLA Health Link works with Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11, as well as with Firefox version 3.0. It is not currently supported on Apple Safari or Safari for the iPad.

The online portal provides secure, around-the-clock access to patient information through your browser - when and where you need it. Your access to UCLA HealthLink is easy to set up, and learning to use it takes no more than a couple of hours.

Interested in connecting with HealthLink?

Access will be determined by UCLA leadership on an individual basis. All requests for access should be directed to Ana Esquivel. If you would like more information, please contact: CCHealthLink@mednet.ucla.edu
