As part of the Jules Stein Eye Institute (JSEI), the Ophthalmic Anesthesiology Service provides preanesthetic evaluation and anesthetic care for all types of ophthalmic surgical procedures. Patients receive preoperative evaluation by appointment, and all parts of the anesthetic management, including recovery, are conducted at the JSEI. Patients from newborns through the elderly are provided with advanced anesthetic techniques that promote rapid recovery and appropriate postoperative pain relief.
