The Department of Family MedicineUCLA Center for Behavioral and Addiction Medicine |
UCLA CBAM faculty treat patients using the latest anti-addiction medications in a confidential and convenient clinic-based setting at the UCLA Family Health Center in Santa Monica.
Treatment is tailored to each individual patient’s needs by combining medication, counseling, and support services to simultaneously address the biological, psychological, and social aspects of addiction. This science-based approach may be more effective for patients who have not had success with traditional counseling and support methods alone.
UCLA CBAM offers outpatient treatment to adults and adolescents for a variety of substance-related issues including:
- Prescription opioid problems (prescription pain killers such as Vicodin® or Oxycontin®) including treatment with Suboxone® (buprenorphine/naloxone) and Vivitrol® (monthly naltrexone injection).
- Treatment of patients with both chronic pain and addiction with coordinated Addiction Medicine and Pain Management treatment available.
- Alcoholism including treatment with Vivitrol® (monthly naltrexone injection).
- Problems with prescription medications including sedatives and benzodiazepines (Valium®, Xanax®).
- Marijuana
- Methamphetamine. Patients also may be eligible for one of our methamphetamine treatment clinical trials.
- Cocaine
