The Jules Stein Eye Institute's specialized laboratories provide information to enhance patient care with increased diagnostic accuracy and assistance in measuring the effectiveness of treatment.
The laboratories provide precise measurements, high-quality photographs, and quantitative studies of the eye and visual system. The laboratories' advanced electronic technology allows earlier, more accurate diagnosis of disease and easier, more reliable differentiation among diseases with common characteristics. Highly trained ophthalmic laboratory technicians perform over 16,000 procedures each year in the laboratories.
