The Department of Rehabilitation ServicesInpatient Neurological Rehabilitation |
The Neurological Rehabilitation and Research Unit (NRRU) is an 11-bed inpatient unit staffed by an interdisciplinary team. The team focuses on functional problems and disabilities and develops a coordinated and individualized care program. In addition, the team aims to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of the patients and their families and friends to achieve the highest possible quality of life.
Typical referrals include patients with the following diagnoses:
- stroke,
- spinal cord injuries,
- brain injuries,
- multiple sclerosis,
- polyneuropathy,
- organ transplantation with subsequent neurological complication and
- multiple orthopaedic injuries.
All referrals are prescreened prior to acceptance to the Unit.
