Dr. Beron is a board-certified radiation oncologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. His professional career spans private and academic practice. He is an experienced brachytherapist (implant physician) and performs prostate, GYN, breast, and limb implants. He is trained in partial breast radiation techniques such as Mammosite, Contura, and Accu Boost. In addition to brachytherapy, he also specializes and is certified in Gamma Knife/stereotactic radiosurgery techniques. The UCLA Radiation Oncology network in which Dr. Beron works includes the community practices in the San Fernando Valley (Providence Holy Cross Cancer Center) and Santa Clarita Valley (Providence Holy Cross Cancer) as well as part time radiation oncology services at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Beron has written published journal articles and a textbook chapter on Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) while working at the Van Nuys Breast Center, which was the first dedicated Breast Cancer Center in the country. He has presented research at national meetings such as the Radiological Society of North America, American Brachytherapy Society, and Society of Breast Imaging. Dr. Beron held previous positions as the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology/Gamma Knife at Good Samaritan Hospital, was a Gamma Knife team member at Cedars Sinai Hospital, and ran prostate, gynecologic, and breast implant programs at Holy Cross Cancer Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, and St. Vincent Hospital (Santa Fe, New Mexico). He currently serves as the Medical Director of the Holy Cross Cancer Center and Santa Clarita Radiation Oncology programs. Dr. Beron joined the UCLA team in 2009 to serve the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valley practices. Dr. Beron graduated Michigan State University, was elected to AOA at Wayne State University Medical School, and did his radiation oncology residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. He is a Member of ASTRO and the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS).
