In a series of free programs, UCLA experts will present the latest options in prostate cancer treatments and research.

Topics will include nutrition, robotic surgery and active surveillance, which is an option for low-risk, localized prostate cancer where patients are regularly monitored, but receive no active treatment.

The first information seminar will be held on July 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.  The series is sponsored by the UCLA Department of Urology and the Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Prostate Cancer.  Speakers will include the following urologists: Dr. William Aronson, Dr. Robert Reiter and Dr. Leonard Marks.

To register or for more information, please contact Lauren Whitted at 310-794-1397 or email her at lwhitted@mednet.ucla.edu.  For additional information, please see the SPORE program website: http://urology.ucla.edu/body.cfm?id=229&oTopID=229
