The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

UCLA Sports Medicine Program

The UCLA Sports Medicine Program provides care for athletic injuries and disorders, including:

  • Ligamentous laxity
  • Meniscal disease
  • Patellofemoral disorders
  • Osteochondritis dissecans and other non-arthritic disorders
  • Shoulder and elbow disorders 
  • Infections of the musculoskeletal system

Arthroscopic surgery for shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, and ankle disorders is available in the Outpatient Surgical Center. Consultation is also provided for athletes with exercise-aggravated medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or amenorrhea in women.
