The UCLA Cardiac Arrhythmia Center offers inpatient and outpatient evaluation of patients with cardiac arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, syncope, and cardiac arrest survivors. Following evaluation, therapeutic options available include conventional and investigational drugs, cardiac surgery, implantable antitachycardia pacemakers and defibrillators, and radiofrequency catheter ablation. Telephone consultation is also available.
Invasive electrophysiologic studies as well as ambulatory ECG recording, exercise testing, and signal-averaged electrocardiography are available. Invasive electrophysiology studies for induction of arrhythmias and assessment of cardiac electrophysiologic function can be performed as outpatient procedures in stable patients.
Outpatients with difficult to control arrhythmias may be referred to the arrhythmia service. Hospitalized patients who are potentially unstable can be transferred directly to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
