Nutritional Medicine and Obesity

Comprehensive programs for the treatment of human obesities ranging from disorders of fat distribution to massive or morbid obesity are available using pharmacological, surgical, and nutritional approaches in carefully planned individualized programs for weight reduction and weight management. These approaches are used in the treatment of obese patients with:

  • Hypertension
  • Hypercholesterolemia
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Low back pain
  • Sleep apnea
  • Osteoarthritis

In addition, pharmacological and nutritional approaches to binge eating disorders with coordinated referrals to sports medicine, behavioral and psychological counseling are available.

Separate programs are available for patients desiring moderate gradual weight loss and for those with medically significant severe obesity where safe and rapid weight loss is desired.
