The Department of Obstetrics and GynecologyMaternal Fetal Medicine |
The Maternal-Fetal Medicine faculty offer consultation services for women with medical or high-risk pregnancy problems or complications. Most physicians in the division are maternal-fetal medicine specialists.
Consultation for high-risk obstetrics is usually available on a same-day
basis with an immediate telephone report to the referring physician and a
written report within five days. Telephone consultation with a faculty
perinatologist is available 24 hours a day.
Prenatal
counseling and risk assessment are encouraged. For hospitalized patients
requiring transport to Level III facilities for either themselves or their
infants, both surface and air transport can be arranged.
