The Department of OphthalmologyRetinal Disorders and Ophthalmic Genetics |
The Retinal Disorders and Ophthalmic Genetics Division specializes in comprehensive care of retinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa. Services include diagnostic evaluations with state of the art imaging and electrophysiological systems, genetics management incorporating mutational analysis and family counseling, and therapeutic strategies including intraocular injections and medical and laser therapies. Clinical and basic science research into retinal disorders, especially hereditary retinal dystrophies and degenerations, represents another major role of this division.
