Pediatric Surgical Oncology (Childhood Tumors and Cancer)
UCLA pediatric surgeons provide specialized pediatric surgical care to infants and children with benign and malignant tumors of the abdomen, chest, and extremities. Comprehensive and compassionate care is offered in conjunction with the primary care pediatricians and referring pediatric oncologists in order to optimize the treatment plan, to provide supportive surgical care, and to offer innovative surgical techniques in the management of complex tumors.
Common conditions treated include
- Adrenal tumors (pheochromocytoma)
- Hepatoblastoma
- Neuroblastoma
- Ovarian tumors
- Rhabdomyosarcoma and other soft tissue tumors
- Teratomas
- Testicular tumors
- Wilms' tumor
- Other rare intra-abdomonal, retroperitoneal, mediastinal, and thoracic tumors
