The UCLA Gonda (Goldschmied) Vascular Center offers a continuum of care for patients with peripheral arterial disease. The UCLA Gonda (Goldschmied) Vascular Center was established to provide focused, highly specialized assessment, treatment and follow-up for patients who would benefit from a full range of coordinated services in a single location. In addition to a core team of vascular surgeons who are available 24 hours a day, interventional radiologists, plastic surgeons, neurologists, neurosurgeons, podiatrists, and cardiologists offer their specialized skills as well.
Patient care in the center emphasizes prevention of vascular disease and promotion of quality of life, both of which play an important role in determining the appropriate course of treatment. As a result of the center's research and teaching goals, the latest treatment modalities are available including clinical trials for new medications, emerging surgical techniques and equipment, promising preventive and management strategies geared to smoking cessation, and hypertension and cholesterol level control.
