Anesthesiology provides complete preoperative evaluation to assess the patient prior to scheduled operative procedures and to facilitate the patient's entry into the system; provides facilities and anesthesiological patient care during and immediately following all surgical procedures; provides patient care when anesthesia is required for operative and non-operative procedures outside the operating rooms; provides postoperative pain management services on a management as well as a consultative basis; and provides a continuum of intensive care management in the postoperative period.
The department also provides patient care for the management of chronic pain in the ambulatory setting and on a consultative basis throughout the Medical Center (Pain Management).

Regarding Special Requests or Concerns
If you have special requests or concerns regarding your anesthesia, or would like to request a specific anesthesiology team, we need to know as far in advance as possible. Options for communicating these issues to our schedulers include:
