Bhavik Shah is an Associate Clinical Professor in the school of medicine at UCLA. He is a faculty member in the department of child and adolescent psychiatry. He completed his M.D. at University of Iowa, and completed his internship at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. He completed his residency in adult psychiatry at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and went on for a child/adolescent fellowship in UCLA child/adolescent psychiatry program. His work focuses on treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities that arise through genetic syndromes or autism spectrum disorder. He works extensively with Lanterman Regional Center, Lanterman Developmental Center, and Anka Behavioral Health. He consults on various complicated cases that confront various regional centers and provides clinical treatment using resources within UCLA as well as in the community. He has published on clinical trials with children who have autism. He has participated on an annual basis with the state Department of Developmental Services in their wellness grant. He is also a faculty member for the Tarjan Center for Developmental Disabilities. As well as having clinical responsibilities, Dr. Shah has responsibilities for teaching in the child psychiatry fellowship.
