Research Interest

menopause, osteoporosis, mammographic density, breast cancer Dr. Crandall's research interests focus on menopause and osteoporosis. Her 2 major projects currently involve identifying the determinants of mammographic breast density (a strong risk factor for breast cancer) and studying the interrelations between breast cancer, breast cancer therapy, and osteoporosis.

Additional Information

Carolyn Crandall is an internal medicine physician who has served on the UCLA School of Medicine faculty since 1994. She completed her undergraduate studies at Pomona College in California and her M.D. degree at UCLA. She obtained both her internal medicine training and a earned her Master of Science in Clinical Research degree at UCLA. Her clinical and research interests are menopause and osteoporosis. She is actively involved in graduate and medical education. She lectures frequently to physicians and other health care providers regarding menopause and osteoporosis.
