Research Interest

Heart, lung and kidney transplant pathology and lung cancer research

Dr. Wallace's research interests include investigation of chronic rejection of transplanted kidneys and lung. Ongoing studies are looking at architectural and pathologic changes of blood vessels in organs with chronic rejection and the subsequent graft injury. Other areas of interest include testing for molecular changes in the development of lung cancer.

Additional Information
Dr. Wallace completed a dual specialty fellowship in renal and pulmonary pathology and received parts of his training at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, England, Cedars-Sinai Mediacl Center in Los Angles and the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. Following his fellowship year, Dr. Wallace stayed on at UCLA as an assistant professor for two years before taking a position at Cedars-Sinai as a renal and pulmonary pathologist. Subsequently, he was recruited back to UCLA as chief of pulmonary pathology. Dr. Wallace also covers the renal pathology and autopsy services.
