Dr. Paquette is funded by the National Institutes of Health to conduct research as a member of Idiopathic Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome and Cytopenia Clinical Research Consortium. Dr. Paquette and the consortium are collecting historical and clinical information from patients to investigate the causes of these disorders and better understand the problems encountered by patients. Research laboratory tests are being performed in order to study the causes of bone marrow failure.

Dr. Paquette is a member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing support for patients with bone marrow failure. Dr. Paquette is collaborating with Drs. Charles Sawyers and Neil Shah at UCLA, and Dr. Brian Druker at Oregon Health and Science University to investigate new treatments for CML and AML. This effort is funded by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America.
