UCLA Health Selected for Medicare Savings Program

UCLA Health Selected for Medicare Savings ProgramUCLA Health physicians are participating in a new care-coordination program called the Medicare Shared Savings Plan (MSSP), designed specifically for Medicare Fee-for-Service patients. The MSSP is sponsored by Medicare. This MSSP program is a type of Accountable Care Organization (ACO), which are groups of doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers who come together voluntarily to provide coordinated, high-quality care to their Medicare Fee-for-Service patients. Coordinated care helps ensure that patients, especially the chronically ill, get the right care at the right time, with the goal of avoiding unnecessary duplication of services and preventing medical errors.
