Simms / Mann-UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology UCLA Cancer Support Resources
With a mission to complement the medical care that oncology patients receive, the Simms / Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology is a special place designed to help patients and their families face the challenges brought about by cancer and its treatments.
Patients with any type of cancer and their family members are welcome and do not need a referral. Information, emotional support and help with day-to-day problems are offered through counseling, the "Insights Into Cancer" monthly lecture series, an array of support groups, an extensive patient library, a newsletter, and specialized training in skills to manage stress and enhance mind/body coping. The Center provides a unique program in which cancer patients can see a physician who specializes in nutrition and the use of dietary supplements as an adjunct to their cancer treatment.
The center also includes Reflections, a boutique providing products to help patients manage the physical appearance changes caused by cancer and its treatment. Reflections offers wigs, hats and scarves, individually fitted prostheses, mastectomy bras and surgical bras, and many more items that help enhance comfort and well-being. Reflections is not-for-profit and open to the public and accepts many insurance plans.
