The UCLA Laser Refractive Center is at the forefront of new discoveries in refractive surgery. The Center was the first in Los Angeles to use an FDA-approved excimer laser to correct myopia (PRK and LASIK). Today, our patients benefit from advanced techniques such as custom LASIK, custom LASEK/PRK, conductive keratoplasty (CK), accommodative and phakic intraocular lenses (IOLs), intracorneal ring implants (INTACS) and astigmatic keratotomy (AK). We are able to treat a wide range of refractive errors including myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), presbyopia, astigmatism and keratoconus. Since its inception, the UCLA Laser Refractive Center has provided care for over 20,000 patients.
The UCLA Laser Refractive Center treats myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia, and astigmatism using the latest laser technology and refractive techniques, including:
- Custom LASIK and PRK,
- NearVision CK,
- INTACS,
- phakic IOLs and multifocal IOLs.
Investigational laser protocols are available periodically. Center physicians often receive referrals for correction of complications or side effects of previous vision correction procedures.
