How do we prepare to go home?
Most patients will have their discharge orders signed in the morning of the day they are to leave the hospital. Only parents/legal guardians or other authorized persons may take a child home. Please pick up your child as early as possible so that the bed will be available for the next patient. Your child’s nurse will go over all necessary instructions withyou before discharge, including information about medications, follow-up appointments and care to be given at home. If your child is less than 60 pounds or younger than 6 years old, California law requires your child to be in a car seat or booster seat. Please bring this seat to the hospital.
