Auxiliary

UCLA Health System Auxiliary: Making a Difference Since 1955.

 

Auxiliary GroupSince 1955 the Auxiliary has provided support to UCLA Health System programs and patients. Known to many as the “heart” of the hospital, the Auxiliary currently has over 500 members and has donated over $11 million.

The following is a short list of projects and programs recently funded by the Auxiliary:

  • Bloodmobile;
  • Revlon Breast Cancer Education Video;
  • Stroke Recovery and Rehabilitation Program;
  • Critical Care Ambulance;
  • People Animal Connection (PAC) which provides animal assisted therapy;
  • Health System Security Van;
  • Adopt-A-Family;
  • Teas for the Soul which provides respite and spiritual support to staff;
  • Health TV for diabetic patient education;
  • ER Patient Clothing Program which provides clothing for ICU patients in need;
  • Pediatric Bereavement Program;
  • Tiverton House which is a guest house dedicated to providing affordable accommodations to patients and their famililies; and
  • Emergency patient aid.

The Auxiliary raises funds through the following channels:

  • Ronald Reagan Auxiliary Gift Shop;
  • Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital Gift Shop;
  • Auxiliary Gift Shop at 200 Medical Plaza;
  • Auxiliary Thrift Shop at 11271 Massachusetts Avenue in West Los Angeles;
  • Membership dues; and
  • Memorial and tribute donations.

The Auxiliary is proud of its role at the UCLA Health System as it has touched many lives and makes an important difference by responding to patient and staff needs when no other resources are available.
