Dr. Mary Maish is a Thoracic surgeon with a diverse background and a specific interest in esophageal disorders.

An undergraduate of Northwestern University and Rush Medical College in Chicago, she completed her General Surgery residency at a hospital affiliate of the University of Pennsylvania. In the following few years she was the Roddy Scholar in cardiothoracic research at Brown University and obtained a Master's in Public Health from Harvard University. She completed her training in thoracic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine/MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and an esophageal fellowship at USC.

Described as vivacious, bright, skilled and compassionate, Dr. Maish has recently joined us here at UCLA to be the surgical director of the UCLA Center for Esophageal Disorders.
