Intern Program
Volunteer Services administers a health-care management intern program for students wishing to gain experience in healthcare administration. Interns volunteer more hours than volunteers (12 - 15), and are assigned to "projects" rather than general office or clerical work. Many of the healthcare managers have utilized interns for patient satisfaction programs, polices and procedures, development of new programs, annual reports, and other administrative projects as assigned. Interns generally commit to the department for six months, and may request a letter of recommendation upon completion. Interns are generally invited to department meetings that may be beneficial for their volunteer work, and "shadow" a health-care manager.
