UCLA Health It Begins With U

UCLA Center for Wound Care and Limb PreservationThe UCLA Center for Wound Healing and Limb Preservation is an outpatient service specializing in the healing of many different kinds of chronic, non-healing wounds by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and technicians with advanced training in wound management. Treatment may include debridement, growth factor therapy, biologics, revascularization, Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment and comprehensive therapy.

When you visit the UCLA Center for Wound Healing and Limb Preservation our experienced staff will examine your wound and ask you some questions about your general health. They will review your medical history with you and may request special tests to help gather information about blood and oxygen flow to the wound area.

After a thorough analysis of your test results and medical history, our team will design a personalized treatment program based on your individual special needs. Your individual program may include regular visits to the center to provide treatment and to evaluate your progress.  If necessary, you will also be given detailed instructions on how to care for your wound at home.

Many health plans cover wound care treatment. Coverage depends on your specific health plan.  If you have questions about this or anything else of concern to you, please ask our administrative staff.
