Global Health
The UCLA Program in Global Health partners with academic institutions in developing countries to advance prevention, policy, and clinical research for HIV/AIDS and other diseases in all regions of the world. We work with our developing-country partners to integrate treatment and prevention of HIV, implement innovative prevention programs, stimulate the implementation of beneficial policies and laws, address gender inequity, and train the next generation of U.S. and developing-country scientists and advocates to continue this essential work.
Through the Program in Global Health, faculty members of the Division of Infectious Diseases are currently treating patients and conducting research projects in Peru, Malawi, South Africa, Uganda and China. Our fellowship trainees are also actively involved in research and patient care at several of these sites. Additionally, UCLA Medicine residents are participating in a special program designed by our faculty in which they experience first-hand the challenges of delivering health care at our partner site in Malawi.
Through the Program in Global Health our faculty members are extending the reach of our mission of excellent patient care, research and education worldwide.
