UCLA Health It Begins With U

As one of the largest academic medical universities in the country, UCLA sponsors many exceptional training programs including our family medicine residency program which consists of 36 residents.

The UCLA Department of Family Medicine Research Program has one of the most active family medicine research groups in the country committed to improving the quality of primary care and promoting health in partnership with ethnically diverse communities.

Summer Research

The UCLA Department of Family Medicine sponsors fellowship positions each summer for medical students to conduct research, to learn about the practice of Family Medicine, and to participate in activities that give back to our communities. All students completing their first year of medical school at UCLA are welcome to apply. Once again, this year we will be combining fellowships at UCLA with the fellowships at the Department of Family Medicine at Harbor-UCLA to maintain an integrated program. This fellowship has a strong focus on providing health care for underserved populations. This is consistent with the goals of the Department of Family Medicine under the leadership of our chairman, Dr. Patrick Dowling. Information about the summer programs are available below.

For more information about any of these summer programs, please contact: Sun Ito, Family Medicine Predoctoral Program Coordinator by email or phone, (310) 825-1048.
