Announcements

Dear Patients:

We are pleased to announce that Santa Monica Bay Physicians (SMBP) has chosen to join the UCLA Health.  We want to assure you that UCLA and SMBP puts you at the core of everything we do.  This transition should be seamless to you.

DOCTORS:  SMBP doctors will become full-time physicians with faculty appointments at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  SMBP will maintain access to our current physician-provider network and now will also have access to faculty specialists within the UCLA Medical Group.

HOSPITALS:  SMBP patients will continue to primarily use Saint John's Health Center while also having access to UCLA Health's network of four hospitals in Westwood and Santa Monica.  Your health plan may require a specific hospital if hospitalization is needed.

PATIENTS WITH HMO INSURANCE:  There are no changes in the referral process.  At this time, referrals will continue to be coordinated by Bay Area Community Medical Group. Please check with your health insurance plan to see if a specific hospital is required for hospitalization.

APPOINTMENTS:  You will continue to call our offices for appointments, as you have in the past.
