Licensing and Accreditations
Accreditation and recognition by professional organizations are the foundation of quality assurance in health care. The hospitals of UCLA Health System are fully accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC), the State of California, and meet all National Patient Safety Goals. TJC accreditation is a voluntary process that looks at a hospital's health, quality and safety standards. TJC conducts on-site surveys to review areas that impact patient care. We also provide ongoing data to TJC for quality measures that assess how consistently certain practices (processes) related to heart attacks, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical antibiotic use are followed.
