The 2012 Holiday Card Collection from Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA
Art has the power to heal, transporting some children to magical places, forgetting about the hospital. The Holiday Card Art Program strives to create opportunities for “kids to be kids” during an abnormal situation. Artists engage children at bedside to facilitate creative expression during lengthy hospitalizations. This creative collection features cards of the season created by young patients who share their interpretation of holiday celebrations from the bedside. A collector’s Barbie Card, designed by Mattel, Inc., is also available.
Proceeds from card sales benefit the Chase Child Life Program, whose specialists work with young patients at bedside to assist creative expression and ease fear and anxiety during lengthy hospitalizations.
