Types of Patients on Service

Patients with new ostomies, fistulae, small bowel transplants, surgical wounds,  traumatic, vascular, pressure wounds, incontinence related dermatitis

Populations Served

Micro-premies, neonates, children and teenagers, adults, geriatrics, out-patient ostomy patients

Scope of Practice

Care of patients (in- and out-patient) with ostomies, fistulae, surgical and traumatic wounds, skin breakdown due to pressure, incontinence, perfusion defects, etc. Our highest priority is appropriate pouch selection, education, and counseling related to pouch application, ostomy care, health maintenance, illness prevention, and rehabilitation of new ostomy patients. Because of the volume of referrals and diversity of patient care needs, we prioritize those on our caseload based upon immediate and long term needs.
