Dr. Sande Okelo is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Okelo received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Oakland Children's Hospital, fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and PhD in Clinical Investigation at the Johns Hopkins-Bloomberg School of Public Health. His research is focused on developing tools and strategies to improve asthma care, particularly for poor, minority and under-served children who are at most risk for poor asthma care and poor outcomes.  His clinical interests include asthma and directing the Pediatric Pulmonary Asthma Center. Dr. Okelo is currently accepting patients at the Santa Monica 12th Street and the Westwood 200 Medical Plaza clinics.

Dr. Marlyn Woo is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Woo received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey in Newark, NJ. She completed his residency in Los Angeles County Hospital, fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Upon completing her fellowship, she joined the faculty at CHLA, where her focus was on cystic fibrosis, central control of breathing, lung transplant and pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Woo joined the UCLA faculty in 2012, where she directs the cystic fibrosis clinic and the technology-dependent pulmonary clinic for children with BPD, on home ventilators and on home BiPAP. Her current NIH-funded research focuses on sleep-disordered breathing in patients with paraplegia and central hypoventilation. Dr. Woo is currently accepting patients at the Westwood 200 Medical Plaza clinic.


Douglas Li, MD

Dr. Douglas Li is an Assistant Clinical Professor at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Li received his medical degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. He completed his residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He conducted research on ventilatory control in congenital central hypoventilation syndrome and iron supplementation in cystic fibrosis. His clinical interests include cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, asthma, and flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Dr. Li is currently accepting patients at the Santa Monica 12th Street and the Westwood 200 Medical Plaza clinics.

Elaine Harrington is a Pulmonary Nurse Specialist at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Elaine received her bachelor of Nursing at Niagara University in Niagara New York.  She is also a Certified Asthma Educator. She has given lectures in cystic fibrosis, pulmonary medicines and airway clearance techniques. Her clinical interests are cystic fibrosis and asthma.

Suzanne Hollander, MS, RD works with individuals and families with complex nutritional needs, including Cystic Fibrosis, genetic metabolic disorders, asthma and obesity. Suzanne previously practiced as a pediatric clinical dietitian at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and completed her Masters in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetic Internship at New York University and Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY.

Sabah Akmal is a Pediatric Clinical Social Worker at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Sabah received her MSW from University of California, Los Angeles. She has worked as an oncology social worker and as a clinician in private practice. She serves as a board member for The Society for Social Work Leadership in Healthcare. She works closely with pediatric pulmonology/cystic fibrosis, endocrinology, and cardiology/cardiothoracic patients and their families at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA.
