CDI Seed Grants

The UCLA Children's Discovery and Innovation (CDI) Institute announces a SEED GRANT funding opportunity for all UCLA faculty members. The CDI, established through initial philanthropic funding to Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA and the Department of Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, encourages multidisciplinary child health research and research training at UCLA across the spectrum of basic, translational, clinical, and health services research. The CDI supports four initial research themes, intended to be broadly and inclusively interpreted, to help investigators develop forums for this multi-disciplinary work:

1. Brain, Behavior, and Development

2. Cancer and Regeneration

3. Infection, Inflammation, and Immunity

4. Nutrition, Metabolism, and Growth

 Award Eligibility:

1. The PI must be a faculty member with primary or secondary appointments in the Department of Pediatrics at the level of Clinical Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor.

2. At least one Co-Investigator (Co-I) must be a faculty member whose primary appointment is outside the Department of Pediatrics. Substantive collaboration with multiple UCLA schools and departments is emphasized.
