Michelle Simek graduated cum laude from UCLA with a BA in Spanish and has worked in the HIV/AIDS field for over 20 years. Michelle began working at the UCLA CARE Center in 2013 in the research department prior to transferring to the MCC program. Her current position as Retention Outreach Specialist (ROS) involves recruiting for and retaining patients in the Medical Care Coordination (MCC) program. She also provides HIV education and treatment adherence counseling for CARE patients and facilitates the MCC Community Advisory Board (CAB). Michelle is a seasoned treatment educator and popular AIDS educator, both locally and nationally. She is a Contributing Writer for Positively Aware magazine and serves on the Executive Board of the Los Angeles HIV/AIDS Women’s Task Force. Michelle is an avid reader, proud aunt, and enthusiastic cat mom.
