Neaka has been working at the UCLA CARE Center since 2017. A University of Chicago graduate with a degree in biology, Neaka's background has varied from working in a genetics lab at UChicago to working with senior management at Gilead on an HCV-related project. At CARE, Neaka works under Dr. Debika Bhattacharya providing research assistance on projects that evaluate mother-to-child transmission of HBV in HIV/HBV coinfected pregnant women in Sub-Saharan Africa. In her spare time, Neaka enjoys reading, writing, swimming, and baking.
