Who is eligible to apply?
High school students ages 16-18 who have not yet graduated when applying.
May the application packet be dropped off?
Yes, applications may be dropped off Monday-Friday during office hours, 9am - 4pm and no later than March 3rd at 3pm.
May I mail a part of the packet while I wait for my transcript or recommendations?
No, the packet must be COMPLETE (application, essay, program acknowledgement, transcript, and recommendations). Incomplete packets will not be considered.
I submitted my application packet. What happens next?
We will notify you via email that your application has been received and is being reviewed.
When do I find out if I am accepted?
Notifications will be emailed by 3pm, March 30, 2017.
What if I am not available for all the dates?
You will not be considered for the program.
What if I am sick?
One excused absence will be allowed. Program certificate/awards/hours verification will not be issued beyond one allowable excused absence.
Do you provide parking?
No, there is limited street metered parking or paid lots. We recommend being dropped off or taking public transportation.
Do you provide transportation to the hospital?
What does the fee cover?
Uniform, CPR training, lunch on orientation date, certificate, and other program fees.
Do you provide letter of recommenadation?
When are fees due?
Non-refundable deposit of $100 due by Info Session on April 8th and the balance is due by May 19th, Check-In Day. Checks only. Fees: The cost for the program is $450.00. If accepted, a non-refundable $100.00 deposit will be due at the Information Session on April 8th. The balance ($350.00) will be due by May 19th. All payments should be made by cash or check (payable to UC Regents).
Who is check payable to?
May I select any department to volunteer in?
No, areas will be assigned.
May I receive class credit for this?
No, this program does not offer class credit.
Do you provide the health clearances?
No, you must arrange with your own physician.
