Men and Women Live Longer in Countries with Higher Gender Parity

Mar 05, 2020 -- UCLA study finds educational equality is associated with longer lifespans. In advance of International Women's Day, March 8, research by the WORLD Policy Analysis Center at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health shows that in countries where gender parity is high, both men and women live longer than in countries where equality is low.

California Must Build Workforce to Serve Older Adults’ Behavioral Health Needs, UCLA Report Says

Jan 16, 2020 -- By 2030, there will be 9 million adults over age 65 in California — up from 6 million now — according to an estimate by the state's department of finance. But a new study by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research finds that California's public mental health workforce is poorly prepared to address their mental health needs and provide treatment for substance abuse.

Let's Get Healthy Award

Jan 26, 2016 -- Innovative, health system-based model for advance care planning implemented in select departments at UCLA Health. The California Department of Public Health recognizes the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California (CCCC) and UCLA Health for an innovative advance care planning program. The program was among 23 selected from throughout the state as advancing the goals of California’s “Let’s Get Healthy” initiative, which seeks to make California the nation’s healthiest state by 2022.
