Ambereen K. Mehta, MD, MPH is an assistant clinical professor of Palliative Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine. She completed residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, during which, she was awarded the inaugural Hynson H. Marvel, Jr. Scholarship - an award recognizing dedication to helping others with "respect, loyalty, compassion, and healing with humor." She completed fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the National Institutes of Health.
After completing fellowship, she joined the faculty at the University of Virginia as an assistant professor in the Palliative Care division. There, she was the Associate Fellowship Director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship and Assistant Medical Director for the inpatient hospice unit. She was recruited to UCLA in 2018. She is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and American College of Physicians.
Clinical interests include medical education and graduate medical education.
