We look forward to welcoming our patients back to UCLA!
Many of our patients have had to defer elective surgery and procedures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our department stands ready and well prepared to welome all patients back and to provide anesthesia care for every type of operation and procedure, for patients of every age. We are fortunate to have good supplies of N95 masks, face shields, and every type of personal protective equipment to protect our patients and our staff from infection.
Our hospitals and surgery centers have the resources available to give the best possible care to all our patients. We want you to know that every patient who needs surgery has a COVID-19 test one to two days before the procedure. We screen every patient to make sure there has been no contact with a COVID-19 positive person within two weeks, and that there is no fever or other sign of illness on the day of surgery.
Our physicians, nurses, and residents respond to questions every day when they report to work, to make sure they are feeling well and have no symptoms that might suggest COVID-19 infection. Every staff member’s temperature is taken on arrival to work, and we wear masks and practice safe social distancing at all times.
Above all, we want our patients to feel safe coming to UCLA for whatever care you need. We are here to take care of you and your family. You may speak to a member of our staff at any time if you have questions concerning anesthesia care. We look forward to our next opportunity to be of service. Thank you for choosing UCLA Health.
