Ariel Seroussi, MD, is a faculty member in the UCLA Department of Psychiatry. He is the medical director for psychiatric emergency services at UCLA, and works as an acute care psychiatrist in the emergency department and inpatient settings. Dr. Seroussi also sees patients in his outpatient practice, and is an attending physician in the UCLA Mood Disorders Clinic. He has worked in clinical informatics projects seeking to improve patient care and physician efficiency, and developed an electronic system for filing involuntary holds in psychiatry, approved by LA County Department of Mental Health. Dr. Seroussi also works for the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge, a campus-wide initiative to transform research on depression and delivery of care.
Dr. Seroussi graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UC Berkeley with a BA in Psychology. He then worked in bench research in affective and addiction neuroscience at UCSF's Ernest Gallo Clinic & Research Center for two years, serving as laboratory manager in the Howard Fields Lab. Dr. Seroussi graduated with an MD from UCSF, and completed his residency in psychiatry at UCLA. He is certified as a diplomate in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
