While we know that every patient with cancer dreams of the day they finish treatment, we know that our job as a part of your team doesn’t end on that day. An extremely important aspect of overall care for those with a history of cancer is a concept known as survivorship. Survivorship is the idea of closely following patients after treatment and evaluating them to keep a close eye on any long-term effects of their cancer treatment. At UCLA we believe that survivorship starts at day one. We discuss the concept of survivorship early on and often throughout treatment. We ensure that once you finish treatment you will continue to have access to the resources specific to your diagnosis.
