Elizabeth Ko, MD was raised in Los Angeles, California. She played Varsity tennis at Diamond Bar High School and graduated as Valedictorian. She matriculated at the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating in three years with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Science. During this time, Elizabeth fell in love with cooking; for one year, she worked as a line cook in Los Angeles restaurants, including Spago Beverly Hills, during a time when the farm-to-table movement was gaining full force.
Dr. Ko earned her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. She completed her residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine, with a focus on primary care, at Rhode Island Hospital, the teaching hospital of Brown University. During her residency, Dr. Ko completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health.
Dr. Ko’s clinical interests include lifestyle interventions and mind-body approaches for the prevention and management of chronic disease. Health, she believes, is not simply the absence of disease, but a state of physical, emotional and spiritual wellness.
Dr. Ko is a graduate of the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine fellowship program. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
