Heart of the Brain Gala 2018
The recent merger of two popular nonprofit foundations (IGN Foundation and Art of the Brain) into "HEART OF THE BRAIN” has proven to be an enormous success in its first few months. On September 22nd, the organization held its first Gala Celebration on the campus of UCLA with a gathering of over 400 attendees, the largest ever held by either organization separately.

National Academy of Medicine Taps UCLA Neurosurgeon
Dr. Linda Liau, an internationally renowned neurosurgeon-scientist at UCLA, has been elected to the National Academy of Medicine. The university announced Oct. 15 that the chair of the neurosurgery department at the David Geffen School of Medicine had received one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine. 11th Annual Heroes of Hope Race for Research
The Heroes of Hope Race for Research took place Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Dockweiler State Beach. The day included a 5K/10K & iDance4aCURE Kid's Fun Run (with SuperHero Capes and Tutus for all Fun Run Participants) Plus Kids Zone and Wellness Expo. Proceeds from the race directly funded innovative pediatric and adult brain tumor research including the esteemed work of Dr. Linda Liau's team at UCLA's Department of Neurosurgery.
