SWOG S1823: A Study of miRNA371 in Patients with Germ Cell Tumors
Technical Title: A Prospective Observational Cohort Study to Assess miRNA 371 for Outcome Prediction in Patients with Newly Diagnosed Germ Cell Tumors
Disease Type: Newly diagnosed germ cell tumors (seminoma, non-seminoma, and other types of germ cell tumors)
Basic information: The purpose of this study is to see if increased levels of the blood marker miRNA 371 can be used to predict relapse in patients with germ cell cancers.
Research Procedures (not a complete list):
If you participate in this study, an extra tube of blood will be collected during your regular clinic visits for up to 3 years. The blood samples will be used to analyze miRNA 371.

Inclusion Criteria:
- New diagnosis of a germ cell tumor, confirmed by pathology or laboratory test (increased HCG or AFP)
- Has not yet started treatment for germ cell tumor
Exclusion Criteria:
