BTAN Empowers the Black Community Through Education

Our partner of the month for May 2012, BTAN-LA is mobilizing post-incarcerated men, women and transgenders by dispelling myths about HIV risk factors and linking them to resources for prevention, treatment and care.

Dr. Currier featured in NEJM Documentary

The New England Journal of Medicine featured Dr. Judith Currier in their documentary titled "Getting Better: 200 Years of Medicine," which looks at the last two centuries of research, clinical practice and patient care, including as section titled, "The Plague of our Time: HIV/AIDS."

Dr. Landovitz Awarded for Innovative Study

AAHIVM/Institute for Technology in Health Care (ITHC) HIV Practice awarded Dr. Raphael Landovitz a $10,000 grant for his creative use of social media to reach young men-who-have-sex-with-men (YMSM) through his "GRINDR" study.

Under the direction of Drs. Thomas Coates, Risa Hoffman and Judith Currier, the UCLA Program in Global Health brings much needed care, treatment and education to the Partners in Hope Medical Center in Lilongwe, Malawi.
