Our Expert Team

When it comes to treating complex cerebrovascular conditions, the quality of your care is critical to your outcome. Our team of cerebrovascular neurosurgeons are all fellowship-trained in their specific areas of subspecialty. And because they have treated thousands of patients with these complicated – and sometimes rare – conditions, they have the expertise to handle unique cases.

Coordinated care for your condition

We are committed to providing coordinated, hassle-free care so you can concentrate on your health — not on arranging health care. We treat one of the highest volumes of cerebrovascular patients in the western United States, and we have spent years creating a health care team that best addresses their needs. Our collaborative approach means that you get the benefit of several physicians from a variety of subspecialties consulting on your case, without having to schedule multiple appointments.

Geoffrey P. Colby, MD, PhD, FAANS | Watch Video
Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Radiology
Director of Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery

Dr. Geoffrey P. Colby is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgeon who specializes in blood vessel (vascular) disorders of the brain and spine. These include brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs), subarachnoid hemorrhage, acute stroke, carotid artery stenosis, intracerebral hemorrhage, cavernous malformations, and Moyamoya disease. He offers a comprehensive evaluation and a customized treatment plan based on the most advanced and sophisticated techniques available, including “minimally-invasive” endovascular procedures like flow diversion and coiling. His research focuses on improving patient outcomes using modern neurosurgical techniques and the development of novel treatment devices.  More >

Jeremiah Johnson, MD

Jeremiah Johnson, MD FAANS
Associate Professor

Dr. Jeremiah Johnson is Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA specializing in the surgical and endovascular treatment of complex brain and spinal cord vascular conditions including, brain aneurysms, brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs), cavernous malformations, spinal vascular malformations, carotid stenosis, intracranial stenosis, and moyamoya disease including intracranial bypass surgery. He is one of the few dual-trained neurosurgeons in the country who can offer the highest level minimally invasive endovascular and microsurgical solutions to cerebrovascular disorders.

Anthony Wang, MD

Anthony Wang, MD
Assistant Professor

Dr. Wang brings extensive expertise in the management of moyamoya disease, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and cavernous malformations. He is fellowship-trained in complex cranial base and open cerebrovascular surgery, as well as in pediatric neurosurgery, as many of these conditions affect patients of all ages. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Heart Association. Dr. Wang’s research laboratory utilizes cutting-edge techniques to understand the genetic underpinnings of developmental cerebrovascular disorders such as these, uncovering modifiable conditions controlling gene expression to offer new avenues to better treat our patients.
