The UCLA Center for Human Nutrition

The UCLA Center for Human Nutrition is a leader in both research and clinical care settings with the goal of advancing knowledge and treatment in variety of nutrition-related health issues including obesity, metabolic disease, cardiovascular disease and cancer.  By understanding the effects of nutrients on the human body through research, we aim to translate this to the clinical practice in the care of our patients.  From 1992 to 2006 the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition was part of the National Institutes of Health's Clinical Nutrition Research Unit that investigated the links between cancer and nutrition.  Additionally, the foundational research conducted by the Center led to the development of our UCLA Medical Weight Management Program (formerly known as RFO) which was described by the US News and World Report as "one of the most thorough weight management programs in the country."
