UCLA HealthLink is a view only application that enables non-UCLA providers access to review the UCLA chart of patients with whom they have an established clinical relationship. UCLA HealthLink has the power to enhance continuity of care, improve communication among referring and UCLA Health providers, and increase referring provider satisfaction with UCLA Health.
With UCLA HealthLink, referring providers are given secure access to view the electronic health records of their patients to facilitate communication of the care given by UCLA Health. They do this by viewing their patients' UCLA Health chart via a web-based version of CareConnect, UCLA’s electronic health record.
Referring providers and coordinators may communicate with UCLA Health care teams via "Community Messages" in the In Basket. They are also notified by email of their patients' encounters - emergency department visits, inpatient admissions - at UCLA Health. Access to view patient information is real-time and printing option is also available.
In the near future, additional functionality will be implemented, including:
UCLA Health Link works with Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11, as well as with Firefox version 3.0. It is not currently supported on Apple Safari or Safari for the iPad.
The online portal provides secure, around-the-clock access to patient information through your browser - when and where you need it. Your access to UCLA HealthLink is easy to set up, and learning to use it takes no more than a couple of hours.
Access will be determined by the UCLA HealthLink governing group on an individual basis.
Please work directly with your UCLA business partner (Sponsor). After consulting with the Sponsor, you may begin the request process by completing the New Access Request Form.
If you would like more information, please submit your questions using the Customer Service Form.
All new requests will be addressed within two weeks of submitting the completed access request form and required documents.
Access can also be extended to other non-providers on a case-by-case basis. If you are a payor, researcher, other vendor, please work directly with your UCLA Sponsor to discuss HealthLink as
an option for you. Applications for access should only be submitted after approval from the UCLA Sponsor.
